Description

The K2 Vandal Design is a snowboard for young riders from the beginner to intermediate level. It offers an Aspen wood core reinforced by biaxial fiberglass for a soft and friendly flex. The flat camber provides a confidence inspiring snow feel with just the right amount of grip to feel secure without provoking edge catches. Same goes for the Catch Free Tune edge tune which guarantees forgiveness. The rockers at both tips smoothen turn transitions and improve the glide on soft snow. Finally, the twin-tip shape (symmetrical from nose to tail) along with the centred foot stance, are very freestyle-friendly. This board enables you to ride switch and send tricks as soon you have mastered the basics. Young riders will have fun in the terrain park once they have learned how to control the board.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
