Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Lib Tech Cortado is a directional freeride board for women, designed for off-piste riding. It’s a board aimed at riders who want to explore the entire mountain without sacrificing stability on hard snow.

What is the Lib Tech Cortado snowboard designed for?

It’s a board designed for freeriding throughout the entire mountain. Its directional shape with a rear-set stance promotes float in powder and a stable forward track. The W Rocker C2 profile, which combines rocker between the feet with camber zones at the tips, blends floatation and edge grip, with a fairly stiff flex that rewards an aggressive riding style.

Who is the Lib Tech Cortado snowboard designed for?

Designed for intermediate to advanced riders, the Cortado is aimed at those who are comfortable on the groomed slopes but want to branch out into freeriding and powder.

A great choice if you often ride off-piste and in fresh snow. Avoid this board if you spend most of your days in the park or on rails: its stiff flex and directional shape aren’t designed for jibbing.

What are the main features of the Lib Tech Cortado snowboard?

Buoyancy

Grip

Stability

Is the Cortado effective in powder?

Yes, its directional shape with a back-mounted stance and central rocker give it good lift in fresh snow. It easily floats when the powder is deep.

What’s the difference between the Cortado and the Glider?

The Cortado is a directional freeride board with a stiff flex, designed for off-piste and powder, while the Glider is a forgiving twin-tip freestyle board geared toward the park and switch riding. Two very different riding styles, despite both belonging to the same W Rocker profile family.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
