The Lib Tech Orca II is the brand’s iconic freeride board, completely redesigned for even more bite. It’s a board aimed at advanced and expert riders looking for a directional board that excels in both powder and hardpack.

What is the Lib Tech Orca II snowboard designed for?

It’s a freeride board designed for powder and challenging descents, with formidable grip on hardpack. Its short, directional shape with a voluminous tip ensures immediate float in fresh snow. The W Rocker C2x profile—a short, aggressive rocker complemented by camber zones underfoot—combines floatation and precision, while the reinforced Magne-Traction edges bite into hard snow like a knife.

Who is the Lib Tech Orca II snowboard designed for?

Designed for the advanced to expert rider, the Orca II is aimed at those who want a versatile and aggressive freeride machine.

  • Riders who seek out powder but also ride on hardpack.
  • Those looking for maximum grip in icy conditions.
  • Experienced freeriders comfortable at high speeds.

A top choice if powder and aggressive freeriding are your priority. Avoid this if you’re looking for a park board.

What does Magne-Traction bring to the Orca II?

Enhanced on this model, it adds grip points along the edges for formidable traction on hard and icy snow. This is what makes the board bite like a knife.

Does the Orca II float well in powder?

Yes, its voluminous directional shape at the front and its C2x profile provide immediate lift in fresh snow. It floats effortlessly from the very first turns.

What’s the difference between the Orca II and the Golden Orca?

The Orca II is the more aggressive of the two, with grip and lift pushed to their limits, while the Golden Orca offers a more balanced and versatile ride across the entire mountain. Two expert freeride skis from the same family—one a specialist, the other an all-rounder.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
