Description

Designed and tested by the legends of the experiMENTAL crew, the Lib Tech Skunk Ape Camber is the eye-catching, wide version of the Skunk Ape line—a classic camber twin-tip. This board is designed for burly riders or those with a larger build who want to go all out with freestyle on any terrain.

What’s the deal with the Lib Tech Skunk Ape Camber snowboard?

It’s an all-mountain freestyle board, at home from the park to groomed runs, with a carving-oriented design. Its directional twin shape, which is wider than average, reduces toe drag for taller riders while allowing for switch riding. The classic camber gives it flawless edge grip and explosive pop for high jumps.

Who is the Lib Tech Skunk Ape Camber snowboard designed for?

Designed for intermediate to advanced riders, particularly those with a larger build, the Skunk Ape Camber is aimed at those who want grippy freestyle performance across the entire mountain.

  • Riders with larger feet looking to reduce toe drag.
  • Riders who love carving as much as playing in the park.
  • Those who want a versatile twin-tip with solid grip.

A top choice if you have wide feet and want a grippy, versatile board. Avoid this if you have small feet: its width requires more effort when switching edges.

What are the main features of the Lib Tech Skunk Ape Camber snowboard?

Grip

Versatility

Stability

Who is the Skunk Ape Camber’s width designed for?

Riders with wide feet: its width at the waist reduces toe drag, depending on shoe size and binding angles. Riders with smaller feet will find it takes more effort to switch edges.

Does the Skunk Ape Camber grip well on hard snow?

Yes, its classic camber and Magne-Traction edges give it solid grip, even when carving on groomed snow. This is one of its strengths.

What’s the difference between the Skunk Ape Camber and the Skunk Ape Twin?

The Skunk Ape Camber is wider and offers more grip; it’s geared toward carving and larger foot sizes, while the Skunk Ape Twin is narrower, more playful, and better suited for the park. Both are freestyle boards with classic camber and very distinct profiles.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
