Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

Robust and adaptable, the Lib Tech Skunk Ape is a freestyle snowboard designed for taller riders or those with larger feet thanks to its solid construction and HorsePower core.

What is the Lib Tech Skunk Ape snowboard made for?

The Skunk Ape features an all-mountain shape with a rounded tail, a slightly pointy nose, and a slightly set-back stance. This facilitates easy turn initiation and ensures good float in powder. Its hybrid camber, alternating between traditional camber and reverse camber, offers increased manoeuvrability and better float in powder. On groomers, it guarantees excellent edge hold while remaining forgiving and handles variable snow conditions well. Its HorsePower construction, sufficiently stiff, provides remarkable stability at high speeds and allows for intense riding and aggressive turns. It is ideal for switching between tracing precise turns and sending tricks in the entire ski area.

Who is the Lib Tech Skunk Ape snowboard aimed at?

This model is aimed at taller, advanced, or expert snowboarders looking for a versatile board that adapts to their body shape and boot size to unlimited maximum fun on the entire mountain.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
