The Nitro Ripper Kids children’s snowboard, here in a version in collaboration with Volcom, has all the assets to allow kids to learn snowboarding smoothly. With its twin-tip shape, flexible construction and forgiving camber profile it is freestyle-friendly. 

What is the Nitro Ripper Kids X Volcom snowboard made for? 

Flexible and lightweight, the Ripper Kids is easy to handle. The flat camber is less radical than traditional camber, it provides a forgiving edge/snow contact and is confidence inspiring as it prevents edge catches. Perfect to feel confident on groomed runs and try carved turns. Kids will learn in no time proper turning technique, without doing the falling leaf! The soft flex makes it not energy consuming, to ride all day long. The twin-tip shape, symmetrical from nose to tail with a centred foot stance allows to ride both ways. You might as well learn switch riding right away!

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
