The Nitro Ripper Youth features the typical construction and shape of modern snowboards. Typically freestyle with its symmetrical shape, it has a soft flex making it playful and easy to handle, while its flat camber offers forgiveness during edge faults to help you easily learn the turns.  

What is the program of the Nitro Ripper Youth snowboard?  

The Ripper Youth is designed for beginners or for those who want to progress in snowboarding in the resort. Indeed, it allows you to learn the basics of snowboarding on green slopes as well as to go deeper into freestyle or all-mountain snowboarding. Its flexibility and symmetrical shape allow you to freestyle, learn to ride switch (upside down) or to do some tricks. Its flat camber allows it to be ridden on the slopes as well as on the edges of the slopes, with a good glide over bumps and soft snow. It's still easy to ride and control, making it safe for young snowboarders.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
