The Mechanic is a snowboard developed by the Rome brand. It offers excellent maneuverability for riders with a thirst for progress. With its flat camber, it combines lightness, forgiveness and performance for an accessible and fun riding experience on all types of snow.

What's in it for the Rome Mechanic snowboard?

It's designed for versatile riding with a freestyle orientation. Its 100% twintip shape, perfectly symmetrical, allows you to ride both regular and switch. It allows you to ride while having fun with the relief on the slopes, as well as on the edges of the piste.  It ensures good grip on groomed snow, proves efficient for linking tricks at the snowpark, as well as for doing rotations and butters. Its Panda Core™ with Bamboo Power Rods construction offers an excellent balance between lightness and responsiveness. Its Sintered sole ensures optimal glide and excellent durability.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
