The main characteristic you look for in a splitboard is lightness and climbing efficiency? You might have heard about the Milligram from Amplid. The Milligram is known to be the lightest splitboard on the market. In addition, it benefits from a camber that excels on kick turns in the ascents and also demonstrates beautiful capacities on the descents...

What is the program of the Amplid Milligram?

The Amplid Milligram is a high-end splitboard, fully optimised for lightning-fast ascents. To do so, it features an ultra-lightweight construction yet still offers power, with a core combining paulownia, balsa and birch wood, a Full Carbon Jacket weave and HEXO2 Lite zones at the tips where the core is replaced by a honeycomb structure using recycled paper to save some precious weight. The Milligram is aptly named, its lightness will allow you to save energy in the ascents. However, it inspires confidence when it comes to climbing steep slopes or sending it in the descents. It Traction Camber classic camber on the entire length of the board offers power on the entire length of the edge and provides high-speed control in difficult conditions. Its high-end construction offers a punchy flex and good torsional stiffness, providing stability and rebound in the descents. Finally, its directional shape, setback stance and tapered shape provide the required lift and floatability to have fun in good snow conditions. Here's a splitboard to take your ascents to the next level, but that can tackle any terrain with power and precision in the descents.

Who is the Aplid Milligram splitboard for?

This model is meant for expert splitboarders looking for the lightest board for the ascent to tackle big climbs and swallow elevation gains. The Milligram will also let them enjoy the descents.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
