This new and improved version of the Hovercraft Split takes advantage of Jones' best technologies. The construction is eco-friendly to the core, with ink-free laser printing, recycled ABS edges and rims, and bio-based resin and wax. An eco-friendly, high-performance splitboard that will give you a great experience away from the lifts.   

What does the Jones Hovercraft Split do?   

The Hovercraft Split has a directional shape with more width than a normal board. This gives it a lot of flotation so it never sinks into deep snow, especially with the generous rocker in the front tip. It's very manoeuvrable and goes into a curve without any effort. On hard snow, it remains stable with good grip and bounce in the turns. On the climb, it offers the lightness, grip and stability needed to reach your goals without difficulty.

This model is aimed at experienced snowboarders looking for a high performance and comfortable splitboard with which they will be able to draw beautiful lines in the backcountry. A board that is very manoeuvrable on all types of terrains and offers great flotation in powder.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
