For winter 2020-2021, K2 has renewed its two favourite splitboards: the Marauder Split and the Split Bean. Radically different, these two splitboards together span a wide range of conditions.
We start with the most atypical with the Split Bean, which is none other than the split version of the famous and even legendary K2 Cool Bean. For those who don't know it, the Cool Bean was one of the first funshape boards on the snowboard market. The Split Bean has exactly the same construction and shape as the Cool Bean, but it is still short and wide, with a big swallow tail and a backwards foot position. Lightweight, fun, offering a fantastic level of floatation, this splitboard is a real treat for backcountry powder pillows. Special dedication to Thomas Delfino who makes a perfect demonstration of how to use this board, in the few sequences filmed for the movie "" Made In Voyage "" by Picture Organic Clothing (to watch without moderation on Youtube).
Less fun and less atypical, the K2 Marauder Split has been designed to offer you lightness on ascents and efficiency on descents without over-performing. On paper, it's not the lightest of all splitboards, but it remains very adequate. It is accessible from the intermediate/confirmed level and will allow you to go anywhere, on any type of snow. It will therefore please a wide range of snowboarders!
These two K2 splitboards are equipped with voile pucks mounted on rails, which allows for a fairly precise adjustment.
