Product description — Highpath Split

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Highpath Split splitboard from Salomon is an efficient board that offers lots of control and speed in the descents, while being lightweight and practical in the ascents.

What is the program of the Salomon Highpath Split splitboard?

The Highpath is a relatively stiff splitboard that is very stable at high-speed, perfect to have fun in the descents by shredding hard on immaculate snow in the backcountry. Its directional shape provides excellent behaviour in powder, as the wide nose allows to float well in powder, while the setback foot stance promotes natural lift. The rather deep sidecut of this splitboard enables to turn short, which gives you the freedom to slalom between the trees. The Rock Out Camber profile allows good control of the edges for precise turns and committed carving, while helping with the ability to lift in pow. Both lightweight and powerful, the Highpath Split is able to perform as well on hardpack as in powder- making sure you have some good fun after hiking all the way up!

Who is the Salomon Highpath Split splitboard?

This splitboard model is meant to advanced and expert snowboarders who will be comfortable enough to climb with two halves of a board, before flying down the mountains on a snowboard. If you are looking to combine the pleasure of exploring and earning your turns with the unique gliding sensations of snowboarding, you will find everything you need to fully express yourself with the Highpath.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
