Description

The Taka Split from Salomon features high quality materials, including an ultra-lightweight Ghost Green Core made from paulownia wood and a stone-finished sintered footbed for an incredible glide on powder snow and soft snow conditions. It comes with a pair of custom-cut Pomoca sealskins that provide a perfect fit.

What is the programme of the Salomon Taka Splitboard?

The Taka Split has a very directional shape, with a large volume in the front and then a shape that tapers in the middle and with some width in the tail, but less in the nose. This shape offers a very smooth entry into turns on all terrain and, combined with the well-defined rockers, especially in the front tip, provides an incredible efficiency in deep snow. The classic camber in the centre of the board provides the grip needed to secure your edges on hard snow. Finally, the flex is not too stiff, allowing you to ride the Taka Split with ease. Thanks to its performance on powder, secure grip on hard snow, intermediate flex and light weight, the Taka Split is perfect for splitboarding around the ski area or for backcountry slaloming through the pines.

Who is the Salomon Taka Split board for?

The Taka Split is a lightweight, high performance, fun-to-ride splitboard for advanced or expert snowboarders looking to explore remote areas of the resort and taking full advantage of extreme snow conditions.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
