Description

The Salomon Pillow Talk Split was developed by Austrian snowboarder Wolfgang Nyvelt, member of the Salomon team and shaper. It has a directional shape, a light but dynamic construction, and a top-of-the-range sole offering excellent glide quality.  It exists in a size 145 and in a size 151, and is sold directly with the Pomoca sealskins.

What is the program of the Salomon Pillow Talk Split?

The Pillow Talk is, as its name suggests, designed to whisper in the ears of the pillows, those powder pillows that we love so much when we ride in the backcountry. Thanks to its highly directional shape, it floats effortlessly and allows you to make your way through deep snow. It has an excellent weight/performance, remaining light during the riding phases while offering intensities on the descent, without being overly stiff avoiding strain when riding. The camber + rockers profile provides a good grip on hard snow sections and will therefore also allow you to pass on the slopes, while the rockers facilitate the entry/exit of curves while further improving the lift in the snow.

Who is the Salomon Pillow Talk Split board for?

This splitboard isn't too physical demanding, but we still recommend it to experienced snowboarders who are already used to getting off the slopes and riding in fresh snow. Perfect for initiation into splitboarding or to improve the practice.

What are the main qualities of the Salomon Pillow Talk Split splitboard?

Power to weight ratio

Manoeuvrability

Versatility

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
