Vuarnet lenses are known to be among the best on the market. 100% made in France, there are exclusively made from mineral glass and guarantee a high level of protection from harmful sun light, great impact resistance and superior precision and visual clarity. They filter 100% UV light and benefit from a multilayer anti-reflection coating on the back surface. Easily recognisable, every Vuarnet lens is stamped with a V underlined by a ski, guaranteeing the authenticity of your sunglasses.
4 lens technologies are currently available: pure, dual shade, flash and polarised, also called Polarlynx. Not only the lenses are high-quality but the frames as well. Vuarnet sunglasses are famous for being worn by athletes, as well as movie stars such as Alain Delon or Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski, and more recently the iconic Glacier model by James Bond in Spectre. With so many models like the VL0002, VL0003, VL0006, VL1104, VL1402, VL0120, including some that are unisex, both men and women are sure to find a pair of sunglasses they like. Vuarnet also offers models for children, for instance the VL 1072, 1073, 1074, or 1079.

Vuarnet lenses are available in 4 base tints: blue, grey, brown, yellow. The colour choice depends primarily on the activity or sport.
You can then choose among 4 technologies according to your needs: pure, dual shade, flash and polarised. They can be combined, for around 30 lens configurations possible. Pure means a simple lens. Flash technology adds a mirror effect to the lens, for the trendy look everybody loves. Dual shade lenses are called ‘lynx’: greylynx, brownlynx, skilynx for instance. Polarising lenses are identified by ‘polar’: brown polar, blue polar etc. A lens such as the blue polarlynx combines polarisation and dual shade technology.
All are category 3, except the Eclipse lens which is category 4, meant for high-altitude and deserts. For those wondering about the iconic Vuarnet Skilynx lens, new Europeans standards classify it category 3 (mid-section) and category 4 (upper and lower parts), because of its dual shade technology.
The Vuarnet Skilynx is the iconic lens the brand is famous for. The only yellow lens in the range, it’s ideal in high-altitude, for skiing, hiking, mountaineering, as it protects from strong light reflection and provides great terrain reading, including on white-out days.
The brown tint of a lens softens the rendering and provides better colour contrasts by highlighting terrain features. Ideal in open spaces, brown lenses are appreciated by golfers. The category 4 Eclipse lens comes in this tint.
With polarisation, blue is the base tint to choose for water sport enthusiasts. Ideal for the sea or ocean, it provides better colour definition and great protection from glare and water reflection.
Finally, grey is the way to go for natural vision and colour restitution for day-to-day life. It’s ideal for driving and in urban environments. It also combines well with Flash technology, for instance with lenses such as pure grey green flashed, pure grey red flash, pure grey silver flash… lots of opportunities to play with colour!
Vuarnet Ice Glacier sunglasses
For strong light conditions, Vuarnet offers models such as the Glacier and Ice. These sunglasses have side shields to protect your eyes for sun reflection on snow and ice, for example on a glacier hike, mountaineering or skiing in high-altitude.
