The S1 Carbon long fiber by Scott is a new 2018 touring ski boot with an ultra light construction and a revolutionary hike system. 101mm last for optimal comfort.
Scott releases a new line of boots for 2018 which they called the S1 Carbon series. It incorporates two models, the S1 Carbon and the S1 Carbon Long Fiber. The former is super stiff, the latter is a lot more forgiving thanks to a carbon weave that softens the flex pattern of the boot. One of the main innovations of these boots is the ski/walk system. Usually featured on the back of the boots, it’s now located on the tongue and allows for more precision on the downhill.
What can the Scott S1 carbon long fiber touring ski boot do?
This boot gives you unlimited access to the mountain. From the peak to the valley, you can go anywhere, climb anything and ski any slope with ease. The ultra light construction allows for long (week-long) tours and comfortable ascents while the stiff 120 flex delivers the reactivity and the precision you need for skiing in the most complex terrains but it remains a touch more forgiving than the standard S1 carbon and feels perhaps a little better, a little more playful. The 101mm last is a good in between, not too narrow and not too wide.
