Product description — Trailtalon Blue Orange
The Trailtalon trail running shoes from Inov-8 are designed for regular use on soft, technical trails over any distance. They balance cushioning, responsiveness and grip for trail training across a wide variety of trails.
The graphene-infused rubber outsole uses 6 mm lugs to grip soft, muddy or wet ground effectively, then release quickly to help drive the next stride. POWERFLOW PRO foam provides dynamic cushioning without dulling ground feel, which remains valuable on uneven terrain where precise foot placement matters. The 6 mm drop sits in a versatile range, neither low enough to force a strict midfoot strike nor high enough to favor heel striking alone. At 620 g per pair, the shoe remains relatively light for a protective trail model.
The technical mesh upper combines breathable zones with reinforcement where wear is highest, while a MET-CRADLE around the heel and midfoot keeps the foot secure on difficult sections. The BOOMERANG footbed returns part of the energy at each stride through compressible foam beads, which is useful as runs get longer. This version comes in Standard Fit, with a medium-width fit that naturally opens up around the toes.
Who are they for?
- Runners training once or twice a week on rough trails and paths, over both short and long distances
- All body types, with cushioning and the footbed helping absorb both lighter and heavier impacts
- Medium-width feet looking for a standard fit with natural room in the forefoot
- Not recommended for regular road use: the 6 mm lugs will wear much faster on asphalt

Frequently asked questions
Are the Trailtalon suitable for someone new to trail running?
Yes, the medium-width fit and cushioning suit many runner profiles for one or two outings per week.
Can you run on roads with the Trailtalon to reach the trails?
A short road link is fine, but the 6 mm lugs are made for trails and will wear much faster during prolonged use on asphalt.
Should you choose your usual size in the Trailtalon?
It is better to choose one size above your usual size.
