Polarized ski goggles
Why choose polarised skiing goggles?
Whether you’re skiing or snowboarding, the best gear to effectively protect yourself from the sun’s glare reflecting off snow or ice is a pair of polarised ski goggles. Not only do they eliminate dazzling reflections from the snow, but the polarised lens of your goggles also enhances contrast. This makes it much easier to read the terrain you’re riding on and to interpret the contours of the slope, which can be both obstacles and opportunities. Your safety and protection in the mountains, as well as the enjoyment you get from riding, depend on the quality of vision your ski goggles provide. To make the right choice, explore our selection of polarised goggles and easily find the perfect model for both men and women.

The Julbo Titan OTG is one of the brand's most oversized ski goggles. Its XXL frame and giant double spherical lens make the Titan OTG a true benchmark for all goggle wearers. With this goggle you can be sure that your eyewear will fit through without a hitch.
Beyond this compatibility with prescription glasses, the Titan OTG is a top-of-the-range goggle with a perfected anti-fog system and highly efficient Air Flow ventilation. As soon as you pick up a minimum of speed, the warm, humid air inside is perfectly evacuated. The ski mask also offers a maximum field of vision and impeccable optical quality.
The Julbo Titan OTG features a Snowtiger photochromic lens that darkens and brightens according to the light of the moment. The sun can play well with clouds and mist, with this photochromic mask you'll always have the best possible vision.
The screen benefits from the Glare Control anti-glare filter. This semi-polarizing filter eliminates 50% of reflections and improves contrast with its red tint. Your perception of relief is improved, and when the sun shines on the snow, you're not blinded by reflections. The other advantage of this screen, which is not 100% polarized, is that you can easily distinguish reflections on sheets of ice. So you can avoid them, eliminating falls and the risk of injury.

What are the advantages of polarised ski goggles?
Polarised ski goggles work on the same principle as the polarised lenses in your sunglasses. Their purpose is to eliminate light reflections when it bounces off shiny surfaces. In the mountains, snow and ice act as natural mirrors, sometimes causing intense glare.
With polarised ski goggles, you benefit from sharper vision and greater visual comfort: distracting reflections disappear, your visual acuity improves, and your eyes are better protected. The result: you ride without eye strain and enjoy a more accurate perception of terrain and contrast, whether on groomed runs or in powder snow.
A technology designed for comfort and safety
The polarised lens of ski goggles provides dual protection: it eliminates glare while enhancing your field of vision. This reduces eye fatigue, limits the risk of dazzling light, and helps you anticipate changes in the terrain. You ski with greater safety and enjoyment, whatever the light conditions.
Julbo Glare Control: smart low polarisation
Some brands, such as Julbo, have developed even more refined technologies, like Glare Control. This low-polarisation system addresses the limitations of traditional polarised goggles.
When the snow is very hard or ice patches form after a freezing night, a standard polarised goggle lens can hide these slick areas because it removes all reflections. Glare Control, however, maintains a slight level of polarisation: it blocks glare from snow while keeping ice reflections visible.
The benefit is clear: better terrain reading, improved safety, and consistent protection against sunlight and glare.
Polarised or photochromic ski goggles – which should you choose?
Why not both? Ski goggles that are both polarised and photochromic does exist – and it’s an excellent choice! In addition to reducing glare from sunlight on snow, the polarised lens enhances contrast, while the photochromic lens automatically darkens or lightens depending on light intensity. It transitions within seconds from category 1 or 2 in low light to category 3 or 4 in bright conditions. With polarised and photochromic goggles, you enjoy optimal visual comfort and protection whatever the weather.
How much do polarised snow goggles cost?
The price range for polarised ski goggles varies from under £85 to over £170. It depends on build quality, level of finish, foam thickness, lens coatings (such as mirrored coatings), and whether or not a ventilation system is integrated.
Polarised ski goggles that are also photochromic are slightly more expensive. The wider their photochromic range (categories 1–2, 1–3, 2–3, 2–4), the higher the price. Their clear advantage is that they combine multiple technologies, are highly versatile, and suitable for use in all weather conditions.
Julbo Glare Control goggles are priced around the mid-range. Semi-polarised, some models are also photochromic.
