Description
The Arva Explore 40 Switch airbag backpack is designed for those venturing into the mountains for one or several days, seeking a combination of safety, comfort and carrying capacity. With its 40-litre capacity and Reactor 2.0 airbag system, it offers a comprehensive solution for tackling challenging terrain while staying protected. Made from recycled 330D polyamide, it features a ventilated foam back panel and the 3D Fit system to ensure lasting comfort even when fully loaded. The Switch system allows you to adapt the capacity according to your needs: the base is a backpack equipped with the airbag system, to which a 30-litre compartment (included with this model) is attached. This compartment can be swapped out for another, such as a 24 or 30-litre version.
Every detail has been carefully considered for freeriders and ski tourers: A-frame or diagonal ski carry, front snowboard carry, ice axe holder and helmet carrier complement a functional internal organisation. The dedicated compartment for shovel and probe is easily accessible, while the zippered pocket at the bottom of the pack lets you quickly grab your climbing skins or rope. A top zippered pocket keeps your sunglasses or ski goggles safe, and a hip belt pocket keeps small essentials within easy reach. Side compression straps and an adjustable sternum strap allow you to fine-tune the load in any situation.
The Reactor 2.0 system is among the lightest and most efficient on the market. It operates via reliable mechanical activation and incorporates two 75-litre airbags that inflate in just three seconds thanks to the patented Venturi system—all within an internal volume of only two litres. Weighing just 650 g, this system remains discreet inside the pack, bringing total weight to 1140 g with steel cartridge or 970 g with carbon cartridge (not included).
