Product description — Ride 18 Switch Black

The Arva Ride 18 Switch avalanche airbag backpack is designed for mountain excursions where avalanche safety equipment is essential, while retaining a compact 18-litre capacity. Its Reactor 2.0 system features two 75-litre airbags and mechanical deployment. The storage layout keeps safety gear separate, with an external compartment for a shovel and probe, while the main compartment is accessed from the top. Skis can be carried diagonally or on the sides, and attachments are provided for an ice axe and helmet.

The carrying system features a heat-moulded back panel, flexible shoulder straps and the 3D Fit adjustment system, designed to accommodate different back lengths. The adjustable hip belt can be removed as required and includes a zipped pocket. The deployment handle and leg loop can be configured for right- or left-handed users, allowing the set-up to be tailored to the wearer.

Is the cartridge included with the Arva Ride 18 Switch?

No, the cartridge required to operate the Reactor 2.0 system is not included with the backpack.

Is the pack hydration-system compatible?

Yes, the Ride 18 Switch is compatible with hydration systems. However, the water bladder is not supplied.

What is the inflation time of the Reactor 2.0 system?

The mechanical Venturi inflation system provides a three-second inflation time and operates at a pressure of 300 bar.

How much does the system weigh with a cartridge?

The Reactor 2.0 system weighs 650 g on its own. It weighs 1,140 g with a steel cartridge and 970 g with a carbon cartridge.
