Product description — Freescape Tour 40 Black
The Deuter Freescape Tour 40 backpack is designed for two-day ski touring outings with an overnight stay in a hut or bivvy, when you need to carry a substantial load. Its 40-litre capacity (70 x 32 x 24 cm, 1,160 g empty) lets you pack two days’ worth of kit without over-compressing it. It shares the adjustable and removable roll-top closure, U-shaped zipped back access, fleece-lined goggle pocket and separate shovel and probe compartment with the 30- and 32-litre versions. The foam LiteSnow back system helps cushion the load. The 210D polyamide and 600D recycled polyester fabrics are Bluesign-certified.
Which activity is the Deuter Freescape Tour 40 backpack best suited to?
It is ideal for two-day ski touring routes requiring a sizeable load: avalanche safety equipment, spare layers, food and supplies for a night of bivvying or in a mountain hut. The 40-litre capacity provides plenty of spare room.
What is the main difference between the Freescape Tour 32 and the 40?
An extra 8 litres of volume, 30 g more when empty (1,160 g versus 1,130 g) and larger dimensions (70 x 32 x 24 cm versus 64 x 30 x 22 cm). The features and carry systems are identical on both models.
Is the Freescape Tour 40 hydration-system compatible?
Yes, the rucksack is compatible with hydration bladder systems (not included). It also features a side pocket for a water bottle and an internal compartment for wet clothing, kept separate from the rest of your gear.
