Description

The Down Proof 300 ml is a soak-in water repellent for your technical clothing and equipment (sleeping bags, etc) filled with down or feathers. Safe, effective and easy to use, it adds long-lasting water repellency and renews the qualities of your equipment.

Why use Nikwax Down Proof  waterproofing agent?

With time and use, the performance of your technical equipment diminishes. Dirt attracts moisture, so a dirty technical garment will tend to take on water. Washing and re-waterproofing your gear will extend its life and revive its performance.

How do I use Nikwax Down Proof  waterproofing?

The first step is to wash your garment (in a washing machine with Nikwax Down Wash), then re-waterproof it with Down Proof.

Nikwax products are safe and manufactured as responsibly as possible.

Machine use:

  • Remove any detergent residue from your machine's detergent compartment.
  • Load clean garment into machine (1 garment maximum).
  • Use 150 ml of product per garment.
  • Choose a 30° synthetic cycle with slow spin.

Hand use:

  • Plunge garment into a basin filled with warm water.
  • Use 150 ml of product in a basin for 1 garment, or 300 ml for two garments in a bathtub. Cover garments well with water. For a sleeping bag, use 300 ml in a bathtub filled with 4 cm of water.
  • Remix, leave to act for 5-10 minutes, and stir again.
  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Repeat for sleeping bags, draining and squeezing the bag lightly to remove all water.
