Similar to the Instinct model, the Scarpa Instinct VSR climbing shoe stands out with its flexible XS Grip 2 sole which provides better grip on volumes and indoors. It retains the same performance-oriented route climbing and bouldering program. While this model fits wide feet, it is ideal for smaller climbers who may find the VS too stiff. Like the VS, the heel is quite stiff, which may make the shoe difficult to put on. When inside, it offers astounding precision on heel hooks, offering great foot stability. The synthetic upper retains its shape, meaning you can pick your size for comfort, a size below for precision and 2 sizes below for experts.  

Note: Scarpa climbing shoes hardly lose their shape over time. For this model, we recommend the following:

  • Beginners: Choose the size closest to your usual shoe size, or even half a size up.
  • Experienced climbers: Choose half a size to a full size smaller, depending on the level of precision desired.
