Description

Binding crampons are an essential piece of gear for your safety when ski touring. They improve your grip when climbing skins are not enough because of the steepness of the slope or the snow conditions. On hardpack or icy snow, binding crampons allow you to keep progressing on your skis. However, they aren’t not an alternative to proper mountaineering crampons on ice and can’t be used on rocks.

Regarding the choice of width, make sure to pick a version wider than your skis at the waist, so that the crampons clear the sidewalls. You need a few millimetres on each side.

This pair of Salomon binding crampons is designed for Salomon Shift bindings. With a width of 120 mm, the 1x2 Shift SH120 can be mounted on skis with a waist width greater than 98 mm and less than 120 mm, which will suit the vast majority of freeskiers.
