Description

Designed for technical mountaineering and ice climbing, the Quark ice axe from Petzl stands out for its modularity. Supplied here with a hammer and an Ice blade, it can be fitted with a purlin, as well as Pur'Ice, Dry or Pur'Dry blades (sold separately) to adapt to all routes. It is also compatible with weights, also sold separately, which improve inertia and balance, for enhanced efficiency.

In this configuration offered here with the hammer, the Quark is particularly practical for setting up precise, safe anchors on snow, ice and mixed terrain. The handle, overmolded grip and Trigrest and Griprest support wedges combine to offer a comfortable, secure grip, while protecting hands when ice climbing. Last but not least, the steel tip at the end of the handle guarantees solid support in pick-and-roll mode on snow-covered surfaces.
