Product description — Ride

The Petzl Ride is designed for ski tourers and ski mountaineers seeking a lightweight, compact ice axe. Weighing just 240 g and measuring 45 cm, it can be carried easily on a rucksack while still providing secure placement, thanks to its steel pick tapered to 3 mm at the tip. The head design and curved shaft provide a comfortable grip in both the cane and traction positions. The machined grip further improves handling, while the minimalist adze can be used to clear snow when required.

What is the benefit of the cut-out pick?

It reduces the weight of the ice axe while providing an attachment point for a carabiner.

What is the bevelled shaft tip for?

It makes the ice axe easier to stow on a rucksack while reducing the risk of damaging other equipment.

Does the ice axe come with a pick protector?

Yes, a protective pick cap is supplied with the ice axe.
