The is a safe bet if you look for a reliable skin ski. The Twin Skin Race returns for a third season on the snow and carries the same construction that has already made a countless skiers happy.
What are the specifications of the Fischer Twin Skin Race Soft/Medium IFP cross-country ski?
The sidecuts are exactly the same as those of Fischer Race skis: the Speedmax and the Carbonlite. The idea was to emphasise the glide of the skis by reducing friction in the tracks. The structure is slightly different though. You won’t find any carbon in that ski. Basalite was used instead to reinforce the honeycomb core. This gives the ski a softer and smoother character, less aggressive than the Twin Skin Carbon. It’s easier to get the ski to grip. The Soft Medium Camber is best suited for small or light skiers with a weaker technique. The Twin Skin System is basically two thin strips of skin that give the ski an excellent glide/grip ratio because the grip zone is short and favours the glide. The other new thing is the IFP plate, only compatible with the new Turnamic bindings. Don’t worry, these bindings are still compatible with the NNN and Prolink boots.
Who is the Fischer Twin Skin Race Soft/Medium IFP ski designed for?
Don’t be fooled by its name. Race is not what defines it best as it comes with a pretty different construction. The Twin Skin Race is an excellent training ski for long sessions. The soft camber makes it easy to manage for less experienced skiers and we thoroughly recommend it whatever your style is.

Ultra light and torsionally stiff construction. Stable sidewalls. Basalt fibre reduce weight and offer great flex properties, whatever the temperature.
Race ski construction with long, dynamic wax pocket pattern for minimum wax loss through friction. Ideal for: cold conditions and dry wax conditions.
Deeper and coarser Plus structure, ideal for warm and moist conditions. Produced using natural diamond.
The finishing touch now comes from Finish First: the term that covers and unites all the individual technological steps in the course of the final treatment of the base.
Reinforced ski chassis ensures longer service life. Homogeneous pressure distribution ensures uniform wax wear.
The next generation in ski pairing: fully automatic dynamic measurements of a multitude of pairing criteria ensures precise ski choice and optimised pairing.
Infrared preparation of the base with hot fluorinated wax. Great glide properties, protects from dirt and oxydation. Powered by Swix.
Two separate skin strips arranged in offset positions and with variable base-depth integration result in smooth and balanced gliding. Mohair skins ensure you can rely on the kick action, especially in hard or icy conditions. Thanks to the unique Teflon coating of the skins, moisture absorption and subsequent icing is completely minimised.
Built in two pieces, this integrated plate reduces negative constraints on camber in order to optimise the ski conduct. The anchor point on the binding fore part, the thin plate and the flexibility ensure precise support, enhanced contact feel and better glide feel. The IFP plates only work with Turnamic bindings.
