The Redline 2.0 Skate range comes with two different skis: one intended for compact snows or “Regular” conditions and one for soft snows, the Soft conditions. The Norwegian brand's new collection already enjoys a solid reputation thanks to the World Cup athletes that have been using them for a while now.
What are the main characteristics of the Madshus Redline 2.0 Skate Soft Conditions cross-country ski?
As the name suggests, this ski has been designed for soft snows that tend to make you sink during kick phase. The camber is suited for these conditions with more flexible extremities and more camber under the feet. The ski geometry has been modified on this model, just like the tip and tail, that are a bit narrower. The ski/snow surface has also been increased to improve the stability without compromising the balance. Construction-wise, the triaxial carbon-covered PR 100X core provides a great dynamism at the end of the kicking phase, even on mash-up snows. The brand new P300 waist has been in development for three years in order to provide you maximum versatility. On snow, the result is outstanding, the ski responds perfectly no matter the strength you put into it or thrust frequency, yet the ride stays homogeneous even when the conditions change. When it comes to skating stability, you'll find back the character, or rather the Madshus identity, with an ultra stable and comfortable ski. The research work of the Norwegian brand truly pays off and this ski is truly incredible to ride, it won our hearts during testing and places itself as a great compromise amongst other brands and models.
Who is the Madshus Redline 2.0 Skate Soft Conditions cross-country ski for?
It's a peculiar ski for peculiar skiers, if the Regular version is rather universal, the Soft Conditions is a great alternative on soft snows that are hard to ski and tiring in skating. It's an excellent choice to complete your collection and it will be perfect for the late season races. Its stability and forgiveness make it a very accessible especially for a ski at this level of performance.
