Description

The Edelrid Ohm II quickdraw is a belay assistance device, specifically designed for climbing pairs with significant weight differences between the climber and the belayer. Compared to its predecessor, this model boasts substantial improvements. The profile and swivel prevent incorrect installation, ensuring that the quickdraw always remains aligned, preventing it from twisting. The addition of a rope locking system prevents accidental opening, making it easier to insert the rope and remove it during descent. The weight has been reduced, thus increasing user comfort.

One of the most notable features of the Ohm II quickdraw is its ability to enhance braking force during belaying, effectively adding 25 kg (3.9 st) to the belayer's weight. Installed in place of the first quickdraw on a route, the Edelrid Ohm II reduces the risk of incidents in case of a fall at the start of a climb. Its design allows for smoother rope handling when feeding slack during lead belaying and is compatible with single ropes ranging from 8.9 to 11.0 mm in diameter. The minimum required weight for the belayer is 40 kg (6.3 st).
