Fulltilt's Ascendant Approach is a top-of-the-range freerando shoe with a 120 flex that provides maximum engagement on descents, but also offers serious advantages for ascents. For example, its Grilamid shell allows you to reduce weight without losing performance, while the Michelin/Grip Walk outsole provides an exceptional durability and grip when you finish the last few metres of your hike. Please note that these soles require bindings compatible with the Grip Walk standard. 

What is the Fulltilt Ascendant Approach ski boot programme?  

The Ascendant Approach has been designed with two objectives in mind: to enable you to ski hard and explore new terrains. To achieve this, we have on the one hand a very powerful boot, with a 120-flex combined with the progressive flex effect offered by the Fulltilt's 3-piece construction, as opposed to the "overlap" construction of traditional alpine boots. So, we have a boot that is both powerful and pleasant to ski in, whilst remaining shin-friendly when landing after a big drop. On the other hand, we also have a relatively light boot (3,640 grams per pair in a size 27.5) with a travel that allows you to cover medium distances on a hike without getting too tired.

This model is designed for expert freeskiers looking to get away from the slopes to seek out new terrain. It is a model of choice for a skier who is very committed yet is looking for a boot suitable for small/medium hikes and approaches. Finally, the 102 mm volume is ideal for offering comfort to a slightly wide foot.
