The more resort-focused part of the range is about far more than a progression of waist widths. The Octo prioritises quick edge-to-edge transitions and short turns. The Mirus Cor retains a relatively narrow waist but takes a more unconventional approach, blending carving with freestyle inspiration. At 90 mm underfoot, the Sato and Captis may appear similar on paper, but they have distinctly different personalities: the Sato is more directional, while the Captis uses a twin-tip shape and tip and tail rocker to enhance its playful feel.
Octo: designed for short-radius turns
With an 84 mm waist, traditional camber and subtle tip rocker, the Black Crows Octo is a piste-focused all-mountain ski. Its short turn radius promotes fast edge changes and fluid sequences of tight turns. Its poplar core, combined with fibreglass and an aluminium tail insert, delivers responsive handling. The Octo Birdie offers the same focus in the women's range.
Mirus Cor: a more playful approach to carving
The Mirus Cor stands out more for its shape than for its 87 mm waist alone. Traditional camber paired with tip and tail rocker, a Titanal layer and a swallowtail create a ski designed to link carved turns while allowing for a more creative style than a conventional piste ski.
Sato or Captis: two 90 mm skis with different personalities
The Sato and Captis both measure 90 mm underfoot, but their construction clearly sets them apart. The Sato has a directional profile and is particularly suited to pistes, side-piste terrain and variable snow. The Captis is twin-tipped, with tip and tail rocker and a stronger freestyle influence. The choice therefore depends less on their width than on your preferred style of skiing.

Serpo, Camox or Vena Cor: three ways to broaden your terrain options
Above 90 mm, Black Crows offers three quite different approaches. The Serpo remains the most piste- and long-turn-oriented, with a construction reinforced by two Titanal plates underfoot. The Camox features a more playful twin-tip shape, while the Vena Cor places greater emphasis on freeride skiing.
Serpo: greater support for directional skiing
The Serpo has a 93 mm waist and is chiefly distinguished by its two Titanal plates underfoot. Its traditional camber, progressive tip rocker and more energetic flex make it the leading choice among these three models for advanced to expert skiers who still place considerable importance on performance on firm snow and long, sweeping turns.
Camox: the 97 mm all-terrain twin-tip
The Camox increases the waist width to 97 mm while retaining traditional camber and tip and tail rocker. Its twin-tip shape and freestyle heritage clearly distinguish it from the Serpo. The extra width provides more float in powder, while the rockered tip and tail make pivoting easier. The Camox Birdie uses the same construction in the women's range.
Vena Cor: 100 mm between all-mountain and freeride
With a 100 mm waist, the Vena Cor marks the next step up. Its tip and tail rocker with fishtail, traditional camber and 17 m turn radius allow it to retain a playful, responsive character. It is a logical choice for advanced to expert skiers who want to spend more time off piste without moving straight to a much wider big-mountain ski.

Atris: the most accessible freeride ski in this group
The Atris combines a 105 mm waist with tip and tail rocker and traditional camber. Its width provides more float than the preceding all-terrain models without reaching the proportions of the Corvus, Anima and Nocta. It is intended for skiers who want off-piste terrain to form a major part of their skiing while retaining a less specialised set of skis.

Corvus: more focused on big lines
With a 110 mm waist, the Black Crows Corvus takes another step up in both width and technical demands. Its stiffer flex underfoot and tip and tail rocker are aimed at advanced to expert skiers seeking support for hard-charging freeride skiing and long, sweeping turns.
Anima and Nocta: powder comes first
The Anima reaches 115 mm underfoot and sits firmly in the big-mountain category. Its tip and tail rocker and long turn radius suit skiing where float and stability at speed become increasingly important.
The Nocta takes this approach even further with a 122 mm waist. It is the most specialised model in the group for deep powder days. Its width and tip and tail rocker enhance float and pivoting in deep snow, but make it less suitable if most of your days are spent on piste.
Which Black Crows skis are suitable for juniors?
The junior range is built notably around the Junius and Camox Jr. The Junius features a twin-tip shape and tip and tail rocker in a format designed for younger skiers. The wider Camox Jr, with its 90 mm waist, is aimed at teenagers looking to expand their skiing to side-piste terrain and softer snow. The Junius Birdie and Camox Birdie Jr complete the collection.
