The Nidecker Altai Wide is the flagship model in the Swiss brand’s boot lineup: a boot that offers solid value for the price, designed for riders who want serious performance without compromising on comfort. The wide version is designed for riders with wide feet who want a roomy fit without sacrificing support.

What are the Nidecker Altai Wide boots designed for?

The Altai Wide are all-mountain boots built to ride anywhere on the mountain, equally at home on groomed runs, in the woods, or in light powder. The medium flex (neither too soft nor too stiff) gives you both the support to carve into the edges and the mobility to link turns effortlessly: it’s the ideal balance for those who don’t want to limit themselves to a specific type of terrain. The Double Boa lacing system features two independent dials—one for the foot area and one for the upper—allowing for precise, zone-specific adjustments in just a few seconds, even while wearing thick gloves. The inner liner tightens with its own quick-lacing system, independent of the outer shell: your foot stays securely in place even when you loosen the boot for a break.

Can the liner be molded to the shape of your foot?

Yes, the Silver Liner is thermoformable: you can have it heated in-store to achieve a custom fit in just a few minutes. It’s also comfortable right out of the box, without needing to be heat-molded.

Does the outsole provide good traction on mixed terrain?

The Gravity+ sole features a rubber insert at the toe, designed to grip ice and rock when you’re walking between runs or heading to an off-piste start. The rest of the sole is made of lightweight EVA for shock absorption.
