Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

Improved version of Burton’s best-selling model, the Custom X is a directional twin ready to take on any challenge. To ride fast and powerfully on any type of snow, fly on the terrain park’s jumps, shred in the descents, the Custom X and its carbon reinforcements are always ready!

What is the Burton Custom X snowboard made for?

The Custom X benefits from the same versatile shape as the Custom. This means it’s a directional twin, symmetrical from nose to tail but with a slightly setback foot stance. The goal is to improve the ability to lift in powder and facilitate turn initiations, while remaining a board that is very pleasant in switch, making it good for freestyle. Regarding the materials used, this is the next level compared to the Custom. The Custom X receives a higher-end wood core with a better power/weight ratio, but more significantly a layer of carbon fibre in addition to the glass fibre to improve the power and torsional stiffness. The result: more grip, more pop, more stability. With a substantial classic camber in addition, the Custom X is ready to carve through groomers, take maximum speed and send you high on ollies.

Who is the Burton Custom X snowboard aimed at?

For advanced/expert snowboarders who love versatile and stiff snowboards to be able to shred hard in the entire resort and do some freestyle.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
