Product description — Kazu Kokubo Pro

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro is Japanese freerider Kazu Kokubo’s signature board: a compact, fast and hard-charging off-piste tool, designed for riders who share his creative vision of the mountain. It delivers the ambition of a freeride board that remains manoeuvrable, without ever compromising on power or edge hold.

What is the Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro snowboard designed for?

The Kazu Kokubo Pro is built for freeride and committed all-mountain riding: powder and variable snow, with a board that stays composed at high speed and holds strong through turns. The shape is directional, with a wider nose and a slightly tapered tail, making it very comfortable in carving turns and deep snow. The profile combines camber underfoot, for precise grip and effective pop, with rocker at the tips to help it float in powder and smooth out uneven terrain. Made at The MotherShip™ in Austria using 100% renewable energy, it features a bamboo core and bio-based resins.

Who is the Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro snowboard for?

The Kazu Kokubo Pro is aimed at advanced to expert snowboarders looking for a precise, powerful freeride board with genuine character.

  • Riders confident on varied terrain, in deep snow and at sustained speed
  • Snowboarders who prioritise off-piste riding and backcountry missions

Choose it if you already have solid skills and want a responsive board for demanding terrain.

Avoid it if you are a beginner or if you are looking for a board designed for the park and features.

Can the Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro be used on groomers?

Yes, it holds well on groomed snow thanks to its strong edge grip and supportive stiffness. On piste, it needs to be ridden with commitment: this is not a board for cruising.

How does the Panda Core™ with bamboo affect the board’s performance?

The Panda Core™ includes bamboo reinforcements that add energy through the turn and provide strong rebound out of the arc. Combined with carbon reinforcements, it contributes to responsiveness and stability at high speed.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
