Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Capita Mega Death is Capita’s top-of-the-line freeride machine: a directional board designed to go fast and ride hard. It carries on the legacy of the Black Snowboard of Death, taking it to new heights of lightness and responsiveness without compromising on power.

What is the Capita Mega Death snowboard designed for?

The Capita Mega Death is a pure freeride board, designed for off-piste riding. The directional shape with a 0.8-inch setback (the binding contact point is slightly shifted backward to enhance float) makes it comfortable in turns and in powder. The Alpine V1 profile is the name Capita gives to this hybrid camber: camber underfoot for solid grip on groomed runs and precise pop, complemented by rocker at the tips for greater forgiveness and float in powder. The Magic Bean Resin used in its construction is designed to reduce environmental impact without compromising the board’s mechanical performance.

Who is the Capita Mega Death snowboard designed for?

The Mega Death is designed for advanced to expert snowboarders who want a board built for commitment, not for learning.

  • Riders who attack off-piste at full speed
  • Snowboarders looking for flawless grip on groomed runs

A top choice if you’re looking for a demanding board, responsive, and capable of handling any terrain without faltering.

Avoid this if you’re a beginner or looking for a board geared toward the park and tricks.

How does the Mega Death perform in powder?

The rocker at the tips of the Alpine V1 profile, combined with the setback and directional shape, allows the nose to naturally rise in deep snow for effective float. Performance in powder is clearly a strong point of this board.

How does the Pure MEGACARBON™ reinforcement affect the board’s performance?

The carbon reinforcement gives the board a firm, directional flex, making it precise and responsive underfoot but demanding to ride: every push is directly transmitted to the edge. This is what gives the Mega Death its characteristic bite on the edges.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
