Description

The Capita The Equalizer is the top-of-the-line freeride board in the Capita lineup, built specifically for female snowboarders who refuse to compromise on the terrain. Inspired by Jess Kimura’s progression—from urban streets to the backcountry—it embodies a simple belief: expert female riders deserve a board that’s just as serious as any men’s benchmark on the market.

What is the Capita The Equalizer snowboard designed for?

The Capita The Equalizer is a directional freeride board, designed for off-piste, challenging slopes, and powder. The directional shape means it has a clearly defined nose and tail: it performs best in turns and powder, but doesn’t excel in switch riding. The hybrid profile combines camber underfoot—which provides grip and responsiveness when edging—with rocker at the tips, which helps you float in powder and absorbs terrain irregularities. This profile gives it solid grip at high speeds and good lift in powder. The board is manufactured at The MotherShip in Austria, entirely using clean energy.

Who is the Capita The Equalizer snowboard designed for?

The Capita The Equalizer is designed for advanced to expert female snowboarders looking for a board tailored for demanding freeriding.

  • Riders who tackle backcountry terrain and want a board that grips firmly at high speeds
  • Snowboarders looking to float in powder without sacrificing precision on hardpack
  • Riders who tackle challenging terrain and need unwavering stability in turns

A top choice if you’re comfortable freeriding and looking for a board that responds to every input on demanding terrain.

Avoid this if you’re a beginner or spend most of your time in the snowpark.

Is the Capita The Equalizer suitable for powder?

Yes, the rocker in the nose and tail naturally lifts the ends of the board as soon as snow accumulates, making it easier to float without having to shift your weight to your back leg.

Can you ride the Capita The Equalizer switch?

The Equalizer’s directional shape isn’t designed for switch riding: the front and back have different geometries, and the board is clearly more comfortable when ridden in the normal direction. Riding switch is technically possible, but it’s clearly not its strong suit.

What construction technologies does Capita use on The Equalizer?

Capita incorporates Holysheet Fiberglass and Special Blend Fiberglass in this model, combined with plant-based resins (Plant Based Evo Resin and Magic Bean Resin), which lighten the construction while reducing the use of petrochemical derivatives. The result: a responsive board underfoot, built with a reduced environmental footprint.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
