Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Gnu Banked Country snowboard is a high-performance all-mountain freeride board designed for big turns, deep snow, and technical terrain. It’s one of the most precise and powerful models in the lineup, with a character that favors fast runs over laid-back sessions.  A bold character, designed for sessions that demand control and the ability to read the terrain.

What is the Gnu Banked Country snowboard designed for?

The Gnu Banked Country is built for carving on the piste, tackling the edges of the piste, and maintaining float when the snow gets deep. Its grip and stability allow you to maintain a clean line on firm snow as well as during fast runs. Its directional shape, with a nose longer than the tail, promotes forward control and float. Its classic camber provides precision, pop, and edge hold, but requires a committed riding style.

Who is the Gnu Banked Country snowboard designed for?

The Gnu Banked Country is designed for intermediate to expert snowboarders who want to tackle natural terrain with commitment and precision.

  • Riders comfortable off-piste who want a reliable board in powder and ungroomed slopes
  • Snowboarders who are working on their turns in varied snow conditions and want solid edge grip
  • Riders who ride primarily in a forward-leaning stance and want a truly directional board

Best suited if you have the technical skills to handle a demanding board and are looking for terrain beyond groomed runs.

Avoid this if you’re a beginner or if your sessions mainly revolve around kickers and snowpark features.

What are the main features of the Gnu Banked Country snowboard?

Edge grip

Stability

Powder performance

Is Magne-Traction useful on the Gnu Banked Country?

Yes, its multiple contact zones enhance edge grip on hard snow, especially when you’re carving or crossing an icy patch.

What does the Gnu Banked Country’s sintered base require?

The Sintered Knife Cut base offers fast glide and absorbs wax well. It must be waxed regularly to maintain its performance.

What’s the difference between the Gnu Banked Country and the Gnu Antigravity?

The Banked Country is stiffer and more responsive thanks to its carbon reinforcement, while the Antigravity offers a more versatile and less radical ride.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
