Product description — Gloss

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Gnu Gloss snowboard is an all-mountain freestyle board designed for riding in the park, on the groomed slopes, and over natural terrain, with a real focus on tricks. This women’s snowboard features a construction designed for lighter riders, offering a responsive ride rather than just a cosmetic adaptation.

What is the Gnu Gloss snowboard’s purpose?

The Gnu Gloss is built to handle jibs, kickers, side-hits, and on-piste runs all with a single board. It’s particularly at home on park features and remains versatile enough to venture outside the park between runs. Its twin shape offers balanced performance in both regular and switch. Gnu calls this W Rocker profile "C2e," which features rocker between the feet and an elliptical camber toward the contact points to facilitate presses while maintaining responsiveness. On kickers and park features, it responds well and makes you want to go back for more.

Who is the Gnu Gloss snowboard designed for?

The Gnu Gloss is designed for intermediate to advanced female snowboarders who want a versatile, freestyle-oriented board, designed from the ground up for women’s body types: flex, geometry, and construction are tailored for lighter riders.

  • Riders who want to improve in the park (jibs, kickers) without neglecting the rest of the mountain
  • Riders who love riding switch and exploring all the possibilities the terrain has to offer
  • The rider looking for a playful and accessible board without being a beginner

A top choice if you want a board that does it all without any hassle.

Avoid this if you’re looking for a board dedicated to big jumps or hardcore freeriding.

What are the main features of the Gnu Gloss snowboard?

Versatility

Park-friendly

Does the Gnu Gloss grip on hard snow?

Magne-Traction adds multiple contact points along the edges to maintain control when the slope gets hard or icy.

Is the Gnu Gloss’s base difficult to maintain?

No, the Co-Ex base is durable, consistent, and easy to repair or maintain throughout the season.

What’s the difference between the Gnu Gloss and the Gnu Velvet?

The Gloss is a twin-tip board geared more toward jibbing and kickers, while the Velvet features an asymmetrical shape and a C2 profile to prioritize control and stability.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
