Product description — Scorp

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Gnu Scorp is a snowboard designed exclusively for the park, built around a symmetrical twin shape and classic camber for snowboarders who want to take their park riding to the next level. It’s a board with solid DNA, built for those who spend their days hitting kickers and rails nonstop without compromise.

What’s the Gnu Scorp snowboard all about?

The Gnu Scorp is a 100% park board, designed to hit rails, boxes, and kickers with maximum pop. Its strong stability keeps the board on track during quick takeoffs and aggressive landings. Its twin shape provides the same ride feel whether riding regular or switch. Its C3 Camber profile features a precise and powerful classic camber that requires active control but rewards confident input.

Who is the Gnu Scorp snowboard designed for?

The Gnu Scorp is designed for advanced to expert snowboarders who want a 100% park-oriented board with no compromises.

  • Riders who are honing their technique on park features: kickers, rails, boxes
  • Riders who want to improve their switch riding and string together tricks with precision
  • Snowboarders looking for a stiff board that’s precise, and responsive underfoot

Best suited if you spend most of your time in the park and are looking for a board that responds to every move.

Avoid this if you switch between the park, freeride, and powder: this board isn’t designed for riding outside groomed trails.

What are the main qualities of the Gnu Scorp snowboard?

Pop

Grip

Precision

Does the Gnu Scorp provide good grip when building speed?

Yes, the classic camber and Magne-Traction provide solid edge grip on hard or icy park runs.

Does the Gnu Scorp’s base require a lot of maintenance?

No, the Co-Ex base holds up well to repeated contact with park features and is easy to repair.

What’s the difference between the Gnu Scorp and the Gnu Money?

The Scorp is stiffer, more explosive, and entirely park-oriented, while the Money remains more versatile on the slopes, off-piste, and in soft snow.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
