The Gnu Setsuna snowboard is an accessible all-mountain freeride board, designed to help you explore the slopes, the edges of the slopes, and powder with maximum ease. This women’s snowboard prioritizes maneuverability, progress, and comfort over aggressive riding.

What is the Gnu Setsuna snowboard designed for?

The Setsuna is built to handle any terrain on the mountain: groomed runs, ungroomed off-piste areas, light powder, and varied terrain. Its directional shape gives it a natural tendency to ride face-down the slope and float in deep snow. Its profile is what Gnu calls the Original Banana Hybrid. The center of the board is raised, which makes turning easier, reduces the risk of edge misalignment, and helps the board naturally float to the surface in powder. The MagneTraction edges, featuring seven wavy zones along the edges, improve grip on hard and icy snow without making the ride stiff.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
