With the Jones Prodigy, young riders benefit from a snowboard built to the same standards as adult models. It features a highly versatile directional twin shape and an FSC-certified wood core reinforced with fibreglass, offering a responsive flex while being suitable for children, allowing them to progress while having fun.

What is the Jones Prodigy snowboard made for?

The Prodigy offers an excellent balance between response and playfulness, allowing for riding in all conditions with a well-balanced board. The slightly set-back inserts make it easier to initiate turns and allow the board to float naturally in powder, aided by the rockers at the nose and tail. The traditional camber and Traction Tech 1.0 technology ensure good grip on hard snow, enabling young snowboarders to carve with confidence. The twin shape from nose to tail allows for a wide variety of freestyle tricks and facilitates switch riding. The Prodigy performs well on all terrains, both on groomers and in powder.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
