The K2 Vandal is a freestyle snowboard designed specifically for children, allowing them to improve and explore all aspects of the resort.

What is the K2 Vandal snowboard made for?

Featuring an Aspen wood core reinforced by biaxial fibreglass, this board offers a soft flex and easy handling for young riders. Its flat camber ensures a secure feel on the snow, with enough grip for stable riding without the risk of falling. The Catch-Free Tune edge tuning increases forgiveness for a friendlier experience. The rockers at the tips facilitate transitions between turns and allow for easy gliding on soft snow in the side country. Finally, its twin-tip shape, with symmetrical nose and tail and centred binding inserts, makes it ideal for freestyle. Once young riders have mastered the basics, they can have fun in the terrain park, perform tricks, and ride switch.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
