Product description — Play

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

With the Play snowboard, Nidecker prioritizes a flexible feel underfoot—ideal for stringing together runs, getting comfortable on the board, and starting to have fun.

What does the Nidecker Play snowboard line-up include?

It lets you progress on the mountain with an accessible approach, whether you’re riding on groomed runs, off-piste, or trying your first freestyle moves. The directional twin shape makes it easy to ride both ways, helping you discover riding switch without losing your bearings. The flat camber stabilizes your footing and makes the board more forgiving when you haven’t quite mastered turning yet. The rockers at the tips soften the initiation of turns and simplify pivoting. The soft flex makes it easier to perform presses, small tricks, and changes of direction at low to medium speeds.

Who is the Nidecker Play snowboard designed for?

For beginners to intermediate riders, this board is designed for those looking for an easy-to-control board to improve on the groomed runs, discover freestyle, and gradually explore the entire resort.

What are the main features of the Nidecker Play snowboard?

Flexibility

Progression

Versatility

Is the Nidecker Play suitable for beginners?

Yes. Its forgiving profile helps you maintain control and is more forgiving of mistakes than a stiffer or more cambered board.

Can you do freestyle with the Play?

Yes. It lets you practice riding switch, your first presses, and small features with a playful ride and easy flex.

Does the Play handle well on the groomed runs?

Yes. It remains stable and reassuring on the groomed runs, with predictable handling that helps you string together turns without getting tense.

Does the Nidecker Play handle powder?

Yes, occasionally. The rear-set inserts provide a bit of lift in fresh snow, without turning it into a freeride board.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
