Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Throwback is inspired from the first Burton snowboards and will take you back in time to 1981 with the Burton Backhill. Relive the thrills offered by the early boards, when snowboarding was an emerging and marginal activity inspired by surfing, skateboarding and skiing.

What can the Burton The Throwback snowboard do?

Designed to be ridden without bindings and with setback inserts, The Throwback has a simple shape and refined construction, in order to offer the purest gliding sensations. Just like old days, this board has no edges, so it’s clearly meant for powder and by no means for groomed snow. To benefit from optimal floatation, this deck is endowed with a flat camber and big rockered tip, as well as a directional shape with longer nose and thinner tail. You can surf snow in your own backyard, in powder fields, and even in a snow-covered forest if you're feeling adventurous!

Who is the Burton The Throwback snowboard designed for?

The Burton Throwback will delight passionate snowboarders, veterans and nostalgic. Requiring a good technical expertise, this board is intended for experienced riders and will allow them to relive the sensations of the pioneers of snowboarding!

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
