What can the Capita DEFENDERS OF AWESOME snowboard do?

The DOA board from Capita has a medium flex that suits perfectly freestyle in the park -which is what the board was mainly built for- but also fresh or hard snow. Its poplar core combined with beech provides loads of power. Associated with carbon fiber beams and kevlar bound sidewalls you get a super poppy and responsive board to perform during your sessions in the park or on flatground, without damaging it. Plus, its Superdrive base delivers precision for smoother glide when you’re riding at high-speed! Really convenient to carve on pistes. The hybrid camber allows a great grip on hardpack as well as floatation on fresh snow… Excellent in the park, performant on powder, this board is clearly a high-quality model.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
