Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Gnu Fiction snowboard is the most accessible all-mountain freestyle model in the lineup, designed to help you explore the mountain and start having fun on the slopes. This women’s snowboard prioritizes a reassuring feel and steady progress over a demanding ride.

What is the Gnu Fiction snowboard designed for?

The Gnu Fiction is designed for learning on the slopes, exploring the edges of the runs, and gradually discovering freestyle moves. It remains stable as speed increases or when your foot placement isn’t quite precise yet. Its twin shape provides the same feel in both directions. Its reverse camber makes pivoting easier, reduces edge errors, and helps the board float in soft snow.

Who is the Gnu Fiction snowboard designed for?

The Gnu Fiction is designed for beginner to intermediate female snowboarders who want to improve without struggling with their equipment.

  • Beginner riders looking for an easy-to-control board to execute their first turns cleanly
  • Intermediate riders who want to explore the park and try out their first features without switching boards
  • The rider who is progressing on varied terrain and needs a stable, forgiving board for everyday riding

Best suited if you’re improving and want a board that forgives mistakes while remaining stable at moderate speeds.

Avoid this if you’re already hitting big kickers and looking for a responsive board designed for technical jibbing.

Is the base of the Gnu Fiction easy to repair?

Yes, the Co-Ex base requires little maintenance and is easier to repair than a sintered base.

What’s the difference between the Gnu Fiction and the Gnu Setsuna?

The Fiction has a twin shape that’s more freestyle-oriented, while the Setsuna features a directional shape that’s better suited for the groomed run, the edges of the run, and powder.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
