Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Gnu Gremlin is a versatile freeride snowboard for riders who aren’t satisfied with just one side of the mountain. It strikes a balance between well-groomed runs and untracked edges, with a powder-oriented character without sacrificing anything else. A serious board, in keeping with the brand’s direct, no-frills spirit.

What is the Gnu Gremlin snowboard designed for?

The Gremlin is an all-mountain board with a freeride focus. It’s in its element on open runs, the edges of the slopes, and whenever there’s a bit of powder underfoot. The directional shape gives it a natural feel for the terrain, with a preference for riding in the normal direction. The classic camber provides grip when carving and responsiveness with every turn. On cold snow or off-piste, the edges bite firmly and the board remains stable at high speeds.

Who is the Gnu Gremlin snowboard designed for?

The Gremlin is designed for intermediate to advanced riders who want to explore the mountain beyond the marked trails.

  • Riders looking to venture off-piste and into powder
  • Snowboarders comfortable on the slopes who want to improve their freeriding skills
  • Riders who mainly ride in the direction of travel

Best choice if you want a board that’s effective on the trail and responsive as soon as fresh snow falls.

Not recommended if you spend most of your time in the snowpark on features and big bumps.

Does the Gnu Gremlin hold up well on hard snow?

Yes, the classic camber and Magne-Traction provide reliable edge grip when the run is compact or icy.

How do you maintain the base of the Gnu Gremlin?

Its sintered base must be waxed regularly to maintain speed and prevent it from drying out.

What’s the difference between the Gnu Gremlin and the Gnu Turbo Gremlin?

The classic Gremlin offers a more balanced ride, while the Turbo Gremlin is stiffer, more responsive, and significantly more stable at high speeds.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
