Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Gnu Wagyu is the versatile freestyle snowboard in the Gnu lineup, designed to ride the entire mountain with a strong focus on tricks and the park, without ruling out the rest of the mountain. It’s aimed at snowboarders who want a responsive and engaging board, capable of seamlessly transitioning between kickers and runs without having to choose.

What’s the Gnu Wagyu snowboard all about?

The Gnu Wagyu is designed to seamlessly transition between runs, side-hits, and the park with precise and dynamic handling. Its pop supports ollies and kicker takeoffs, while its stability ensures safe landings and fast runs. Its twin shape provides the same feel in both directions. Its W Rocker profile combines a central rocker with camber underfoot to blend maneuverability, grip, and rebound. The result is a board that’s forgiving when initiating turns, with grip and pop when you apply pressure. The construction, centered around an Aspen/Paulownia core reinforced with carbon, gives the Wagyu crisp responsiveness and pronounced pop with every push.

Who is the Gnu Wagyu snowboard designed for?

The Gnu Wagyu is designed for intermediate to advanced snowboarders looking for a responsive and engaging board to improve their freestyle skills while maintaining freedom on the rest of the mountain.

  • Riders who tackle kickers and runs without limiting themselves to the park
  • Snowboarders who want pop and responsiveness underfoot
  • Riders who are improving their freestyle skills on a demanding yet precise board

Best choice if you’re looking for a responsive board for freestyle and kickers on groomed runs.

Not recommended if you’re a beginner or looking for a board geared toward powder and freeride.

How does the Gnu Wagyu’s carbon reinforcement make a difference?

Carbon increases responsiveness and rebound when you load the board into a turn or on the takeoff of a jump.

Is the base of the Gnu Wagyu easy to maintain?

Yes, its Eco-Sublimated Co-Ex base is durable and requires little maintenance while maintaining consistent glide.

What’s the difference between the Gnu Wagyu and the Gnu Facts?

The Wagyu is stiffer, more responsive, and performs better on kickers, while the Facts prioritizes ease of turning and forgiveness.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
