Product description — Stratos

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Jones Stratos is an innovative snowboard that blends the soul of a high-performance freeride board with a design focused on smooth handling and the sheer enjoyment of riding. Its wood core, combined with flax and basalt reinforcements, recycled steel edges and sidewalls, as well as the use of bio-based adhesives, all reflect a sustainable approach without compromising on performance.

What is the Jones Stratos snowboard made for?

Thanks to its balanced and friendly flex, the Jones Stratos delivers an immediate sense of comfort, allowing you to carve smooth, precise turns across all types of terrain. Its pronounced front rocker, distinctive directional shape, and setback make initiating turns effortless and intuitive. The board is also designed to excel in powder, with a natural float that makes transitions in deep snow easy and fluid. At the same time, the traditional camber paired with Traction Tech 3.0 wavy edges ensures outstanding grip on hardpack, while its lively pop provides excellent energy out of each turn.

Who is the Jones Stratos snowboard aimed at?

Designed for intermediate to advanced riders, the Jones Stratos will appeal to those seeking a high-performance directional board with great versatility, able to adapt its character to any riding style. It will satisfy riders who crave a variety of sensations, combining stability and responsiveness to ride freely, whatever the terrain configuration.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
