Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The K2 Excavator is an all-mountain freeride snowboard, performing well on groomers and ideal for progressing in powder. Thanks to its optimised features, it allows you to fully enjoy the mountain and experience unique sensations in fresh snow.

What is the K2 Excavator snowboard made for?

The Excavator board features a core made of paulownia, aspen, and bamboo, with carbon and fibreglass reinforcements. It has a stiff flex for optimal stability. It offers precise control and excellent response between turns. This K2 board remains sufficiently easy to ride to not be too physically demanding. Its directional shape with a wide nose and a narrow swallow tail, setback stance, front rocker, and traditional camber allow you to make the most of this construction. With the Excavator, you benefit from intuitive turn initiation with excellent edge hold on hard snow and optimal float in powder.

Who is the K2 Excavator snowboard aimed at?

We recommend the K2 Excavator to intermediate to advanced snowboarders who have good control of their riding and are looking for a versatile and friendly board for freeride and powder adventures.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
